The management partnership between Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary and Lori's continues to be an effective and profitable arrangement. The Auxiliary representatives meet on a regular monthly basis with the Lori's Gift Shop manager and other administrative personnel from Lori's. By doing this, we are collectively able to provide input and help formulate decisions pertaining to merchandise and inventory, personnel, marketing strategies and any other issue that will affect the smooth operation of the Gift Shop.
 
Sales revenues continue to increase due to the success of monthly and holiday promotions. The Gift Shop is a welcome friend to those patients who can amble into the store or have the ability to "phone in" and request delivery of a variety of personal items. Snack/sundry items, floral arrangements and flowers, greeting cards and jewelry promotions have all contributed to the steady increase in sales.
 
It is anticipated that the relationship with Lori’s and the Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary will continue well into the future.

Bringing Lori’s into our hospital to manage the gift shop was one of the best business decisions we have made recently. It has not only saved us money and time, but we have exceeded our first year’s sales goal and increased our sales by over 50%. It has allowed us to focus more on patient and guest services, while being assured our gift shop is being run by a retail management company that specializes in hospital gift shops.
 
I particularly appreciate the merchandise assortment and how they are willing to customize their services to meet our needs. We enjoy having Lori's involved with our gift shop. The cooperation between the corporate office and the Hospital has been a terrific union. The fact that the Hospital administration doesn't have to staff the gift shop has been wonderful, the products found in the gift shop are of good quality, and we don't have to be responsible for ordering and keeping the financial records. The percentage of sales in return with a rental fee adequately reinforce a strong union and the relationship is easily negotiated if there are concerns.
 
We are pleased with the items in the gift shop. Our Hospital is mainly for adults - we don't have children, only babies for the most part - so the gift shop is geared to the adult population. The promotional sales are exciting to the staff and they support the sales genuinely - which is a testimony to the product that has been purchased.
 
Lori's manager is very responsive to the concerns within the Hospital. Whether it is an employee concern, an operational concern, or even maintenance, we have been able to work together to solve it. We have a strong relationship that is geared more toward being peers, than a tenant in a building. Our Hospital standards are throughout the gift shop in choice of employee, values, and ethics - reasons why the relationship continues to grow and build.
 
I would recommend Lori's to any other Hospital that is looking for a gift shop. The quality is great, the service is excellent, and the values of their Corporate office mesh easily with the values of service excellence within our Hospital. The George Washington University Hospital Women’s Board is 110 years old and until we became associated with Lori’s the gift shop was managed by Women’s Board volunteers. I cannot say enough good things about Lori's Gifts. As Property Manager I have been fortunate to have 3 shops on my campus that are managed by Lori's. They have been on our campus for the last 4 years, and it has been such a wonderful partnership. We have over 10,000 patients, visitors, employees and physicians that are on campus daily. Their shops provide gifts, sundries, clothing, accessories, reading material, etc., and with really great customer service skills.

We planned a beautiful location in the lobby of our new hospital and couldn't be more pleased with the way in which Lori's has outfitted and operates the space. With Lori’s, we know that our hospital has a good selection of gifts, flowers, cards, food items, and other miscellaneous merchandise for our visitors. Our partnership with Lori’s has been a win/win for the Jackson Hospital Foundation and our employees and customers. While the shop did raise money for the Foundation, we struggled daily to balance staffing, ordering and stocking. The development staff was frequently distracted from our main focus of fundraising.

Lori’s has oversight of the process of hiring and orienting new staff managers and manages employees. They make the selection of merchandise based on customers’ needs and requests. I don’t need to become involved in that process unless I have a product idea.

Having Lori’s manage our gift shop has been a blessing. For many years, our Volunteer Services ran the gift shop and it was a successful, thriving business. However, over the years our volunteer services department dwindled down and it became challenging for them to maintain the gift shop to its full capacity. I would say the biggest benefit has been relieving our volunteers with the responsibility of managing the gift shop and freeing them up to assist in other areas of the hospital
.
